Gandhi haters & Independence day

A couple of years back, I was talking to a moron who said that assassination of Gandhi was the best thing that happened to india. He went on to add that he should have been assassinated much earlier.
He was not a one-off case. I have come across quite a few ‘cases’ like this. While everybody is entitled to their own opinion, there are some morons who think opposing any established views makes them feel they are intelligent ones or unique ones.
There are also some morons who support Godse. These people share photos and events saying that he justified killing of Gandhi in court. The fact is no such thing exists. There are many fake articles claiming to be the last speech of Nathuram Godse which justify killing Gandhi . And a lot of stupid young facebook-savvy Indians believe and share this propaganda and sometimes, you happen to bump into these idiots. The most common thing in this country is to give opinion even though you don't have hell of a idea about it.

I don’t know how many of such idiots have seen the english movie on “Gandhi”. It is a shame that “the” best movie on Gandhi has to be made by a foreigner. This movie is a must-watch for an Indian.

I remember a scene from the movie was used in one of behavioral sessions .Gandhi ends the speech as below
They may torture my body, break my bones, even kill me, then they will have my dead body. But NOT MY OBEDIENCE!
Another quote from the movie

[at Gandhi's funeral] The object of this massive tribute died as he had always lived - a private man without wealth, without property, without official title or office. Mahatma Gandhi was not a commander of great armies nor ruler of vast lands. He could boast no scientific achievements or artistic gift. Yet men, governments and dignitaries from all over the world have joined hands today to pay homage to this little brown man in the loincloth who led his country to freedom. Pope Pius, the Archbishop of Canterbury, President Truman, Chiang Kai-shek, The Foreign Minister of Russia, the President of France... are among the millions here and abroad who have lamented his passing. In the words of General George C. Marshall, the American Secretary of State, "Mahatma Gandhi had become the spokesman for the conscience of mankind, a man who made humility and simple truth more powerful than empires." And Albert Einstein added, "Generations to come will scarce believe that such a one as this ever in flesh and blood walked upon this earth."

Another one:
Nahari: I'm going to Hell! I killed a child! I smashed his head against a wall.
Gandhi: Why?
Nahari: Because they killed my son! The Muslims killed my son!
[indicates boy's height]
Gandhi: I know a way out of Hell. Find a child, a child whose mother and father have been killed and raise him as your own.
[indicates same height]
Gandhi: Only be sure that he is a Muslim and that you raise him as one.

The movie ends with the following credits
Whenever I despair, I remember that the way of truth and love has always won. There may be tyrants and murderers, and for a time, they may seem invincible, but in the end, they always fail. Think of it: always.

HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY!

If everybody is entitled to their opinions, you can not call anybody a moron or idiot for their opinions, however convoluted the opinions may be. you contradict yourself in this blog.
