After quite long time, i happened to travel by train by Sleeper Class.
As usual, the train was filled with IT folks and students who are going home on long weekend.
A smart ,good looking guy boarded the train . He had some Samsung galaxy or some android phone which i could not recognize, thanks to my company which prohibits camera-cell phones.
The ticket examiner came and checked the tickets. He asked the guy for tickets and after checking the tickets,he asked him for 43 rupees.
The guy told he had taken proper tickets and why should he give him 43 rupees.
The examiner told him ticket fare has been increased in railway budget and he should pay the extra amount.
The guy got furious and started fighting with the examiner. He told him that they should message him once the fare is raised or they should display message in the irctc site.
The examiner told finally "Either pay the amount or get down in next station"
The guy now asked the examiner " How do you expect people to carry such amount in trains?"
I was like ":O" . The guy didn't have the amount. He has only 20 rupees. One stranger in the compartment
offered him the 43 rupees and the problem was solved.
After the examiner left, the guy was chatting on his phone ,may be via whatsapp/facebook.
Seeing the incident left me with many unanswered questions. Crazy people and a crazy country!
